Fidelity is headquartered in Boston ($1.5 Trillion in assets under management). The Harvard University endowment ($29 billion in assets) is also in the area. I have no idea how much quant work either does, but suspect that both have some need for software developers.

Did fidelity not move their HQ to North Corolina? I might be wrong. I have heard of state street but not heard of any particular companies in there. Software Developer job is of more priority for me compared to Quant type of workThanks

ITG is also in Boston. They are also a good quant shop. Recently I heard they are into algo trading of futures and options. Fidelity has not moved out to NC. They are moving to some suburbs in MA / NH like Manchester , etc. That might make it difficult for people who like being in the city. Besides personally, I find snow very depressing; so Boston is not my choice of place.........
