CDO index quotes
For the iTraxx index, for example, you have the 0-3, 3-6, 6-9... etc. tranche prices.But can anyone tell me what the quote for the "index" represents?Does it represent the running premium payable on a CDS on a single name of the basket?Thanks.

no. it's a quote on the basket of CDSkind of a basket of 125 CDS traded instantly. Just to make sure: as is the CDX.BTW: next week's rooling time. the 8th series of iTraxx will start trading on the 20th of sep from 0800h London time
