Hello, I have final round of telephonic interview with Bank of America in a couple of days for the post of Quantitative Analyst. I am finishing my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. The position in based in Mumbai, INDIA. Everyone ask how much salary you expect. Could you tell me please how much money I should ask in Indian currency ? I don't have any idea of Bank of America packages. Comments are welcome.

The package is likely to be standardised in line with the other quants they have in Mumbai, so there is probably little room for negotiation. You should probably expect something around 8-900 lakhs as a base. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss it further.

To be frank - 6-7 lakhs is also ok to start with. I know a quant at another US bank in Mumbai who is on 9 lakhs, but he had some relevant experience before joning, so you need to take that into account. My email address is in my profile.
