term abroad in cuba - bad for CV ?

December 6th, 2007, 10:08 pm

HiI'm not a native english speaker but i'm studying already right now for two terms in the uk. I'd like to do one more term abroad next year, my favorite is Cuba, so what do you think that would appear to HR people when you consider that the uni of habana is not that well known?? (I'd like to do it for other reasons, however I'm sure I can spend there also enough time studying relevant literature in order to progress).thanks in advance!

I wanna go to Cuba too. It must be an amazing place, despite the American embargo. Unfortunately, I no longer am a student, so going to Cuba won't be that easy. Let me tell you this, once you start working, you won't have the time to do such things anymore. Go to cuba, by all means.By the way....so the US pissed off the whole middle east, and all middle easterners who live abroad, and they still think Cuba is a threat? What is going to happen, like Putin is going to ship russian rockets to Havanna yet again? We are like 2 generations past the bay of pigs disaster (a short version of the Iraq war, if I may...), and still the US is holding Cubans responsible for flirting with Communism? Like communism is such a great threat these days! America, wake the fuck up.

Maybe if you started your own little futures and commodities online trading market for sugar, molasses and tobacco Then come back on a 100 ft yacht, put the boat people to shame, write a book about it, start a revolt in Cuba by Cubans who get jealous about capitalism .. Hmm. Or you could go work in rural south carolina picking 'taters.

If you are getting a degree there, then you'll have to do some convincing that the degree is a good one, which would mean things like emphasizing the thesis project.

Hey this getting to be like the Newsgroups. There was this guy who used a Perl script each in place of two posters, who ostensibly came from opposite sides of a millennial ethnic divide. Was insanely brilliant. For a day or two. Man can we cut out the personal insults. I support freedom of speech on the net and all but I like this Forum. Peace be with your itchy typing fingers, and snow on your foreheads and webbed fingers so you cant hit that mouse submit button before hurling mildly entertaining but likely to attract the mod's attention, posts.
