Sequences

Hi guys can anyone help me with any of the following sequences. i.e. find X. I just cannot seem to spot a pattern here. 1. 17, 16, 4, 12, 14, 13, 3, 1/3, x2. 24, 4, 20, 3, 17, 6, x3. 192, 48, 24, 24, 6, 12, x4. 7, 6, 8, 20, 21, 49, x5. 8, 14, 13, 16, 9 , 13, 12, x6. 2, 7, 6, 7, 1, x7. 4, 8, 12, 20, 32, 62, x8. 1/3, 6/8, 3/6, 4/4, 5/12, 6/6, xCheers!

The OEIS is your friend here (well, not for 8) : http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/Seis.html. Remember that in all these sequence games, you may be looking for something slightly different to that which is published.For example,4. is very similar to part of http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/A1178236. has several matches7. is very similar to part of http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/A063776Good luck!

Thanks. I did have a look through the site already! These were the ones that i couldnt solve LOL.Will see if anyone on here as any better luck!

Are you sure 7 ends in 62 and not 52? Otherwise that one's very simple, just add the previous 2 numbers together and x will be 84. Still thinking about the rest...

Sometimes these tests are two or more sequences mixed up, and 1. and 2. would have 11 as an answer; 3. would be 3, 5. would be 17, 8. would be 7/24, 7. could be 92, 6. would be 7, 4. would be 24. Of course this could be wrong. I think Martin Gardner once wrote an arrticle about sequences that looked like Fibonacci but weren't.

I guess as McCarreira the answer for 2 is 11 (the difference between the 2 preceding terms)an the answer for 4 is 90 (the sum of the 3 preceding terms)

I guess the answer to 4. is 61. My sequence is:7 6 8 20 21 49 61 120 170 302 459
