I have played with a demo and read the glowing reviews from engineeringstudents who sound as left brain impaired as I do. I have been tryingto find an excuse to buy, but am gunshy after blowing the wad on Mathematicaand Shaw.I am weak on basic matrix math and computations...I'm think the Matricesand Geometry might be the best...what do you think?

I was looking for a heuristic method to approach the mathematics of derivatives from difference perspective. Thus, discovering the principles and the rules of thumb during a "lab work" and not necessarily from lecturing or books.Anyone knows about a closed-form method? Thanks,David

David, what to you mean by the "closed-form method" ? Also, are you talking about finite differences or trees ? My understanding is that you mean the latter, right ?

<< ? Also, are you talking about finite differences or trees ? My understanding is that you mean the latter, right ? >>Yes, perhaps trinomial tree ? Anything beyond Derman? To clarify things, let says that probabilities are non-artificial as in binomial tree, thus it possible to discover real life and further closed-form methods.Thanx
