Wilmott.com has been one of the most influental "things" in my life in 2002. After seinga post on a programming mailinglist about something called "quantlib" (in early 2002) andfollowing a link on that site I got transferred to the magic land of wilmott.com. Before I encountered wilmott.com my focus for this school-year was going to becomputer science - after reading MANY posts on wilmott.com I thought:"This QF stuff seems interesting, challenging and funny - and everyone seems smartand fun to work with. Being interested in mathematics, computer science and economicsperhaps this is something for me.."Some days later I switched all my planned CS-courses to math and finance courses, eventrying some PhD probability courses I'm nowhere near being able to give thesame kind of quality back to the forum that I recieve, but constantly learing fromthe forum members should probably fix this sometime in the future. All in all - thanks for a life-altering experience - Paul and everyone else!
