Can anybody of you please describe the typical profile of a student who gets very likely admited by Haas Business Schools Master in Financial Engineering (e.g. GMAT score, undergrad courses, programming skills).Maybe somebody who is currently enrolled for this program can tell about the admission process. Is somebody with an degree in business competitive for this program? What can I do (8 months before the deadline) to increase my chances to get admited? Thanks a lot for your advice!

You can go to haas.berkeley.edu/mfe. The student statistics and profiles are posted there. The class is very diversified. If your math and programming background are not strong, take several courses would be helpful.

Does anyone have information on Claremont Graduate University's Financial Engineering program? Is it considered a respected program? I live in Southern California and it would be impossible to attend Berkley. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity what aspects of the USC program make it a superior program to Claremonts MSFE program?

I would also very much like to read that response comparing the two programs. Note USC has the usual website set up by students to rate the professors and if you identify the ones you would be taking there, then you can review their performance. This is at www.senatecourseguide.com/dradams01: please tell me if you had Protopapadakis at USC and if so, what was your opinion of him?
