OR at Berkeley

Hello,How is the department of Industrial Engineering and Operations research at Berkeley for someone who wants to do quant research?Thanks

Since you are talking about the SF area, consider Stanford. Most rank it as the number one O.R. school. Also their connection with the business school is well known and alot of graduates of both programs are known for taking courses in both programs. Also their list of their very well known PhD grads. in finance probably beats any other school.

agreed. my experience with OR at berkeley is that those guys are academic number cruncher who know little about how finance works in real world. they are mainly good for solving complex (if unrealistic) mathematical portfolio optimization problems.
