math primer books for the cqf

December 14th, 2008, 11:41 am

hi,I am planning to do the cqf in june 09. Could anyone recommend a good book to refresh my math skills?I studied economics and put as many math courses as possible, but I am not sure what level of math is required to start the cqf.I already read a primer for financial engineering from stefanica (and the second half was quite difficult).I also tried "stocastic calculus and finance" and essentials of stochastic finance, but both were very time consuming, since i had to look up many things in other books and search the internet. So I am looking for an easy book with the concepts, that are required for the advanced stuff.Man Thanks!

math primer books for the cqf

There's a maths primer course that is included in the cqf course's cost. It runs in the month before the start of the course if you need to brush up your background knowledge. I'd check that out since it's directly tailored to the CQF itself and will be free if you're already set on doing the course.

thanks,I know about the math primer but I am sitting for the Level3 CFA exam in June, so there will be very small time to do the math primer.I would prefer to do some math now, while the pressure from the cfa exam is still low.
