"Empirical Research Partners" -- do you know about it?

February 23rd, 2009, 2:03 am

Is it a good firm to work for? What is an analyst's work like there?

Any advice please? It seems this is a quantitative research firm. Is it a good firm to start a career in research?

Not sure about how it is to work there, but I can tell you a little about what they do. Mike Goldstein (who I think used to be with Alliance Bernstein) is the Strategist & Partner over there but most of the quantitative research work is headed by Brian Cho. They primarily focus on quantitative equity research i.e. fundamental factor based models. My guess is the work would involve a lot of time series-cross sectional regression type work but maybe they do some more high-speed stuff...not sure. Hope this helps
