Again, the work exp in the article here is counted after Phd (Since most quant groups want a Phd), However I am talking about a bit different case, that of an Undergrad with 4 years Industry experience became a VP and joining a Quant Group, so its more like an entry level. My assumption is that the 4 years worexp can be treated on par with Phd. Is my analysis fair ?I don't think 4 years work experience comes close to equating to a Phd, and I have never heard of an entry level quant with only an undergrad degree. I also think you need to discount the fact that a VP in India does not equate to a VP in London or New York.As others have mentioned, 60K+bonus sounds about right.Makes sense, I am not directly equating 4 yrs to Phd but just trying to make a crude comparison of apples and oranges

.I agree with the 60K+Bonus part too.Regarding an Entry Level Quant with only an undergrad, yeah it is not a street norm but its not something impossible either. Again you might be probably looking at quant groups in NY/LN. However there are certain quant groups operating out of India where people are taken from IIT's. Now after 4-5 years of good performance there are cases where that person is moved internally to NY or LN. Though this is not a frequent occurence.
