tar at the beach in Louisiana

May 23rd, 2010, 10:16 am

I don't know why normal people so readily accept the idea that tar at the beach is bad. Just for the sake of remembering history, I will recall that when I was a child, we used to get tar or oil or whatever it was on our feet at the beach all the time. When we got home, while the fresh-picked corn was boiling on the stove for dinner, my grandmother would scrub it off with Lestoil and a rough rag.Nobody got sued, no one was harmed, and my grandmother was going to be scrubbing us with a rough rag either way. What is the big deal? You people need to learn stick to what is in the bible, and form your own opinions on what is not from actual experience.QuoteIf the sun refused to shine,I don't mind, I don't mind.If the mountains fell in the sea,Let it be, it ain't me.Got my own world to live throughAnd I ain't gonna copy you. Now, if 6 turned out to be 9,I don't mind, I don't mind.If all the hippies cut off their hair,I don't care, I don't care.cuz I got my own world to live throughAnd I ain't gonna copy you.White-collar conservatives flashing down the streetPointing their plastic finger at me.They're hoping soon my kind will drop and die,But I'm gonna wave my freak flag high . . . HIGH!Fall mountains just don't fall on mePoint on mister Businessman,You can't dress like me.I've got my own life to liveI'm the one that's gonna have to dieWhen it's time for me to dieSo let me live my life the way I want to.

"Odious Tarbits" would be a great name for a character in a Dickens novel.Perhaps the Nikki Beach should offer little kits with a single-serving bottle of Lestoil and a monogrammed rough rag on the ramp from the beach?

QuoteSusan Villiers, 52, stared with frustration at the empty waters as she walked along the oil-soaked beach of Grand Isle, Louisiana. "Everybody is angry because they want to see action," said Villers, who has three fishing boats sitting idle because of the spill.I have news for you bimbo, you don't own the ocean!

You start with fish that look very nice, but then my stomach really start to rumble when I get onto lobster, prawns and crab.

My advice to the people of Louisiana coastal areas: Just sell your properties and get out of the area. More oil is flowing now that "Top Kill" has failed. Get out now while you can, before it's too late. Isn't this how traders work.... bail first, get out first, ask questions later. That's how I work, that's how my colleagues work, that's how my boss works, that's how we make money.

An interesting question....The govt wants to bailout everyone affected by the oil spill, either using direct taxpayer $$$ or through BP. But since a significant percentage of the biz owners in small gulf shore towns operate a cash business (ie under the table), do we bailout and reimburse the real loss or the loss reported on tax documents????Just Hmm...????
