March 22nd, 2003, 1:05 am

Hello,First of all, many thanks to Mr. Wilmott for this web page! I am a physics PhD student in US, and recently got hooked into quantitative finance - I really like it. So I decided to get an internship position in quantitative finance, which prooved to be a very difficult task . Can anybody help with some advice or some networking info? Anything will be greatly appreciated.I have experience with Perl, also some C++, and a quickly expanding knowledge of derivatives: Wilmott, Hull, Fabozzi(Fi math, CMO), BrooksI will really appreciate any help.Thanksasto

Hi asto,it seems, we (I mean physics PhDs) are not in a great demand at the moment . Probably, we (as the smartest people in the world) first have to put U.S. economy back to order and only then look for a good job :-).Anyway, we are in the same boat (except that I have MS in Computational Finance :-)), so if you want to get in contact with me before anyone of us gets to the right place, send me a private message. good luck, ezhik.
