Hull's Solution Manual for FRM?

March 1st, 2011, 7:41 pm

I am studying Hull's chapters for the FRM exam and I was wondering which solutions manual I should buy for those chapters on GARP's website. There a few editions of solutions manual on amazon.

Isn't it just different version for the relative editions? Most likely it's the latest or next to latest that you'll need.

I have Kaplan notes and the 5th ed of the FRM manual...that's what I am using (hoping) they will be good enough to passI taught a few years ago ( like 2) an advanced MBA course in option/derivatives, etc with Hulls edition something (like 5 or 6..cant remember now). For that edition ',I did have the instructor solution manual. For this test however, I am not using them.

Kaplan notes should be enough to pass - I agree, it worked in my case. I bought all those books and treated them as a reference but the amount of material is huge and you may simply not have time to read everything plus the fact that you already know a lot means you should start from the notes and study the subjects that you need in more depth. I spent a lot of time on solving trial exams (available from Kaplan website) and the ones you can get from GARP. This really helps because you will get on average 2.5 minutes per question during the exam - you need to master the techniques as well.Good luck,Marius
