Kompetenzzentrum Fliesentisch

September 23rd, 2011, 6:51 pm

It appears that in Germany so-called Fliesentische, that is tables constructed out of wall-tiles are the current thing to have. Since there is a chance that I will move to Germany for work, I need some advice from the German Wilmotter's on which kind of Fliesentisch to buy in order to really impress people. I need a fancy Fliesentisch, still I don't want to one-up my boss. So I thinking something brownish with beveled edges and maybe one motive tile. A large selection of Fliesentische can be found at the "Erstes Deutsches Fliesentischmuseum" respectively "Kompetenzzentrale Fliesentisch".Deutsches Fliesentischmuseum

You need to see your boss's Fliesentisch, get the price of that Fliesentisch, multiply the price by your salary, divide the result by your boss's salary, and then buy a Fliesentisch of that price or lower. If you can't determine the market price of the boss's Fliesentisch, then repeat the algorithm with the number of tiles and number paint strokes (and colours) in the motive tile. You want your Fliesentisch to be proportionally smaller and simpler. And if that fails, then might I recommend a Penrose tiling with Fibonacci numbers. It will be geeky enough to diffuse the upstage factor although I can't speak for the mysterious ways of the German (non)sense of humour.

I can make you one, and sign the masterpiece for the right price. Your boss' wife wont stop whinning to him, when she will discover that you have a handmade artistic such nonsense. Probably your boss, will bid a multiple, just to be able to sleep at nights....and you career will accelerate... stepping on the lowest materialistic instincts...

In Germany there is a law that you must be at least 75 years old to legally own a Fliesentisch. There are two exceptions I know:- You are member of a "Schützenverein"- You are member of a "Kegelverein"

Most people that own a Fliesentisch also own a cat like this one.
