moscow school of econonmics?

February 13th, 2012, 2:35 am

anyone have an opinion on the masters program at moscow state university?the thing that impresses me is that they require two separate exams: economics and math. Most schools just require the gmat, which is sort of a joke and some executive mba programs have even scrapped the requirements for that (insead). i grew up in this west, but speak russian, so i think it might be a neat experience. http://www.mse-msu.ru/post_e.php

If you look for a program in Moscow, consider only NES (www.nes.ru)

Quoteindeed, what do they cover ?soviet-style economics ?There is at least one economic school in Moscow where most of the professors are having PhD from top universities and are active in research see http://www.nes.ru/en/people/professors/mainThe Graduates of NES are accepted as econom. PhD students to places like Stanford, Harvard, etc. Many graduates are working in the City for Tier1 IB. PS This goes without mentioning that you can get very strong education in probability theory and financial mathematics in Moscow State University. Although it's not that industry oriented as MFE in usually sense.
