EUR swap daycount

March 7th, 2012, 8:43 am

Hi, I am a question on the daycount of EUR interest rate swaps which I am not too sure of. If I understand it correctly, the fixed leg daycount is 30U/360, which means that:1. If the investment is EOM and (Date1 is the last day of February) and (Date2 is the last day of February), then change D2 to 30. 2. If the investment is EOM and (Date1 is the last day of February), then change D1 to 30. 3. If D2 is 31 and D1 is 30 or 31, then change D2 to 30. 4. If D1 is 31, then change D1 to 30. Thus the daycount from 27 Feb 2015 to 29 Feb 2016 would be 362/360 as Date1 is not end of February. However, if i try to set up a standard EUR swap in Bloomberg, I see that the daycount for the same period is taken as 363/360. Presumably I must have made an error somewhere, can someone tell me where I have goofed? Thanks very much for your help.
