oxford mcf or columbia msor?

May 23rd, 2012, 10:07 am

I am making decisions between Oxford computational finance and Columbia MS in Operation Research.Could anyone compare entry-level job opporturnies between London and New York? I want to be a quant/risk management.Quant positions seems hard. If I want a risk management job, which program is easier in job-landing for international student like me ?

If you are non-EU citizen, then may be any UK university is out of question compared to US university, since immigration is much harder in UK.

(i.e. super star profs, movie stars, concert level musicians, etc)And the economy is turning to sludge over here. I would not spend 1c on a UK qualification even from LBS etc unless I was either (a) very wealthy, (b) somebody else was paying, or (c) I had the right to live and work indefinitely in Europe.Immigration "reform" in the UK is only going to lead to labour shortages in 30 years and no-one will want to immigrate here. If you ask me they should open up the doors to the hard working people of the world and throw some of the indigent out.
