Yield Calculation of Turkey Government Bond

May 8th, 2013, 9:53 am

Hi all,I have some problems with the exact yield calculation of Turkey Government Bonds (in comparison to Bloomberg). They have a 182D coupon frequency and the DCC is "act/act" but I don't know which yield method they use.Now I'm searching for a book/paper/documentation of the calculation but couldn't find anything.Does anyone have seen such a documentation?(for example I have found a documentation for the canadian government bonds http://www.iiac.ca/resources/267/canadi ... 1-2007.pdf and now i'm trying to find a similar one for Turkey)Many ThanksDenny

Yield Calculation of Turkey Government Bond

May 16th, 2013, 10:02 am

Hi Recep,I have several question regarding the calculation.I think the most parts of the calculation I already have. But at the end I have to make sure that my calculations are valid for all TURKGB, thats the reason why I asking for a "official" documentation (I already had a look on the internet side of Istanbul Stock Exchange and some other sides but couldn't find anything.)I think the calculation of the cashflows is straight forward (Coupon/2). But is this always valid? Could it happen that the cashflow changes because of an ajustment of the cashflow date (Usance=following)? The days between two coupon payments are always 182 days? The calculation of the accrued interest should be Coupon*Days/182?!The used Yield convention seems to be the SIA convention. Here I'm not really sure?Kind regardsDenny

See this graph if you want to get an idea of Turkish Government Bond yield. http://www.quandl.com/EUROSTAT-EuroStat ... ity-Turkey. You can compare the results of the calculation with the intercepts of this graph. Hope it helps!
