A friend of mine asked me who are the biggest investment banks (in U.S. or outside, in europe or the whole world), who is the largest hedge funds.I can't answer that. Also I don't seem to be able to find that information on the web. Does anyone know it or where to look for it? Is it based on revenue? profitability? sheer size? Thanks

Phil23, Here is a recent II list of top hedge funds as ranked by AUM (which is the norm, since profitability isn't quantifiable): http://www.institutionalinvestor.com/ii ... d+list.asp As far as IB/BDs go, for some people it's league table rankings, for other it's profitability. I tend to favor the latter, but I don't make the rules.T

AutumnGold.com is a website mostly (at least the public area) for CTA/CPO's which most people don't consider hedge funds. If you are looking for rankings of CTA/CPO's, go to IASG's website and do a rank sort by AUM.T
