Since there seems to be some pretty good amateurs of music, from Jazz, to cool electronic or Heavy Metal, I am wondering what quants have in terms of equipments.Do the real one listen to blue notes on their Linn LP12 ? Mc Inotsh Power Amp ? NAIM audio ?I personally have a 20yr old Luxman amp I don't remember the model and I inherited from a pair of Quad Esl-63.

Otherwise, I'd say just ebay it. amazing what p.o.s. things go for quite a bit of cash on there, and great stuff goes for nowt.Stereo is an Arcam amp, Cambridge audio DAC and CD, A turntable (can't remember who made it), Mordaunt-Short speakers (that sound pretty good), set of 1210s, Numark mixer, more expensive cabling than it really needs. Also space for Samplers, PC/Mac paths into the system. Waiting to check what my mate has as he's in London, so I might add a Kaos pad soon so I can play about.

Some Masters At Work, Brian Stingley Brazilian Beats or something like that, some white label dj promotion stuff, some 2-Step LPs, some old skool trance, a lot of pop sounding crap, a lot of Strictly Rythm label black female vocal stuff, some old early nineties techno that sounds a little dated....etc...etc....Michael Jackson Off-the-Wall....some British I-want-to-sound-like-a-cool-American-Black-dude type stuff such as X-Press-2...some Basement Jaxx.

For me it's a Proton Amplifier coupled with two System Audio speakers (910 I think). For now I have a 10-year old Sony cd player, soon to be replaced by a Pro-Ject cd player and turnable.
