Shorely, thou jesteth sireNo, he's totally right. A literal crapload of microbrews opened where I grew up after the "crisis" hit in 2008. Apparently, a lot of these guys who were canned must have decided: "Well, screw going back to what I was doing before. What do I do now? Well....I like beer, so there's that?" A majority of them don't even sell individual cans or bottles of their brew but rather go simply for sales of growlers (64 oz. jugs) or kegs. They all have the same kinds of beers on tap and the people that hang around them tend to be on the "I'm such a beer connoiseur" - hipster doofus side. But that aside, if you choose wisely you can get some pretty good beer despite a majority being on par with a Natty Ice or Hamm's. I mean, how many IPA and ESBs can you have? Too many.Nice microbrew in Seattle that I visited recently or; All work and no beer make Homer go craaaazyThere have also been a ton of Whiskey distilleries that have opened as well. Bulleit Rye Whiskey for one - one shot of that put a buddy of mine to sleep on his ride home after a BBQ AND gave me a mean hangover a week later. Although my hangover might be also linked to downing an entire growler of Naked City "Yankee Drifter" + 12 cans of bud light and right at the end switching over to Bulleit, but I digress. CBAre you William Hague's american cousin?KönigspudelNot the last time I checked. But I fail to see what my post has anything to do with some Limey conservative politician's Freundeskreis. Unless I've mistaken your reference?I was just giving my low-down on the microbrew-culture in the US of A. I guess the saying goes here: shit happens when you party naked, huh?CBTake it easy! I was referring to This from the BBC in reference to your list of drinks one evening.Konigspudel

In 1952 Carling lager was first sold in the United Kingdom; in the early 1980s it became the UK's most popular beer brand (by volume sold).

The opposite. Böhmisch Budweis/České Budějovice is a town in Czechia/Czech Country/Bohemia, its brewery is much older than US. But America has much better lawyers, Czechs were forced to change the beer name to Budvar.
