1,500 people gathered in the rain on Friday to mark the anniversary of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor when 2,403 Americans died.
For the first time, none of the survivors of USS Arizona were able to attend: about 300 USS Arizona sailors survived the sneak attack, but only five are alive today: Lou Conter, Don Stratton, Ken Potts, Lonnie Cook and Lauren Bruner, all of whom are in the 90s and none of whom was well enough to be present.
There were about 100 WW2 vets present

“The ones that should be honored are the 1,177 shipmates on the Arizona, and the 2,403 from the military services who were killed that day,” he said.
