Quant consultant at a hedge fund

January 8th, 2018, 4:15 pm

Hello,

I have recently left a senior quant role at a European Bank in London. I have an opportunity to join a global macro fund as a quant research consultant. The mandate of the consultancy project would not be that of a quant developer, but more that of redeveloping some of the strategies I list on my CV, which obviously would have to be re-coded from scratch. As I am not familiar with this sort of business model, I would have a couple of questions:

1) What is a typical daily rate for such positions? I had a senior role
2) Are extras (holidays, health insurance) normally included?
3) Does anybody have a clear view, from a legal standpoint, on the intellectual property of such projects? The written code would belong to the firm, but what about the know-how which goes beyond the code?

Thanks,

Tigerman
