Often overlooked firms

June 19th, 2018, 6:40 pm

Hello all, I'm a postdoc.  I've been applying for quant researcher jobs, mostly at hedge funds.  Some quickly say "we're not interested", I've had one or two interviews, and some of my applications are still making their way through the system (I assume).  And I've run out of names.

My list is based on where former colleagues are and the results of Google searches, searches here, and recommendations.  Think Renaissance, PDT, DE Shaw.  Are there firms that are in your opinion systematically overlooked?

Get a recruiter, or better - ask your colleagues for a recommendation.

Alan, thanks for the list, it has names I was not aware of.

katastrofa---I'm betting you are/were an astronomer, in which case, what are your recommendations?  (I've applied to the ones I've received.)  I know nothing about getting a recruiter.

Astronomy? Is it even science?
Make a profile at a efinancialcareers and the recruiters will come:
