the left are in a bind with President Trump.
He won because his policies were aligned with what the majority of the electorate want, and the economy is going from strength to strength,
Instead, the left is trying to create a narrative that President Trump won by colluding with the Russians (when in fact the exact opposite seems to have happened with the infamous dossier being produced by elements of Russian intelligence and paid for by Hillary) and a further narrative that President Trump is a liar.
We saw this during the campaign, when the NYT "fact-checked" the debates and labelled President Trump a liar, but if you went through their list, the overwhelming majority of things that the NYT labelled as "untrue" weren't actually untrue. The NYT was playing games to create their narrative, and when President Trump said something, the NYT would disprove something slightly different and brand President Trump a liar.
We saw an example recently when the Philadelphia Eagles' planned visit to the White House was cancelled. When the trip had been arranged, scores of players had agreed to take part. Then almost all of them withdrew so that only 2 or 3 players were left. The White House cancelled, because the event would have beejn lame with only a couple of players there,and explained why it cancelled. And lo and behold, the media (and bearish) responded by saying that President Trump had cancelled the visit because he (president trump) had said the Eagles players had protested the national anthem. Since no Eagles players had in fact protested the anthem, this was labeled a lie by the media and by bearish.
But the thing was, this was a lie by the media (and bearish). As stated above, the visit was cancelled because almost none of the Eagles players were planning to come
As part of their narrative, the NYT looked back on Obama's presidency and concluded that Obama seldom if ever lied, while also concluding that President Trump lied about everything..
The article I linked looked at that NYT claim, and listed a number of large untruths on the part of Obama which the NYT had chosen not to mention, so that Obama was a far bigger liar than the NYT would have people believe

By the stated forum rule, I may not be allowed to post here, but I'll risk it just for once. You seem to imply that this is a NYT issue. It is also an issue with the Washington Post, Bloomberg, CNN, MSNBC, FT, The Economist, and even (remarkably) now and then, the WSJ. In fact, it is hard to find any kind of vaguely reasonable media outlet that supports him, aside from Fox News, Breitbart, Infowars, and wherever Rush Limbaugh is.
Your colorful (so to speak) story of the Eagles all withdrawing from the WH visit because they don't want to be associated with Trump must make you proud. They're not as outspoken as the NBA players, but their point is pretty much the same. Massa Trump no good!

1. Politicians can be corrupt no matter the side they are on
2. Fox news has a different editorial stance of finding any excuse to attack the Democrats...oh wait...

if the deep state were concerned that Putin had videotaped Trump and were blackmailing him over the non-existent watersports with Russian hookers, why weren't they equally concerned about State Department officials having sex with masseurs/masseuses in the same hotel?
and maybe the choice of the hotel in the dossier wasn't just random, maybe it was because of this story related by the former top counterintelligence official
And a third point, why are we only hearing about this now? why wasn't it a massive scandal with people losing their jobs, which happened with the secret service in Colombia, again during the Obama years, when the agents had sex with a hooker then refused to pay her and she went to the US Embassy to complain

An interesting (and informative) look at how Obama weaponized various agencies such as SEC, FEC, IRS, etc etc.
Normally when someone falls afoul of one of those agencies, there's an administrative fine, no jail time, and no criminal record. Examples might be Elon Musk being fined $20M by the SEC for market manipulation following his attempted joke about taking Tesla private at 420. Evidently "420" was a marijuana reference aimed at his girlfriend, which none of us, and none of the media, got. Or Obama 2008 campaign fined $375,000, a fine imposed by the FEC (federal election commission) for 2008 campaign violations involving more than $1.8M.
In some instances, a violation is handled as a criminal matter by the DOJ rather than as an administrative matter by the agency involved, and this leads to jail time and a criminal record. Whereas Obama got a fine for campaign finance violations involving more than $1.8M, Duncan Hunter Jr, a republican congressman who was an early supporter of Trump, has been accused of campaign finance violations involving $60k, so about 3% of the amount Obama copped to, and his case is being dealt with by the DOJ as a criminal matter, with the prospect of jail time.
The linked article explains how Obama weaponized the various agencies. People on his enemies list were given extra special scrutiny, and if any violations were found, those cases were dealt with as criminal matters by the DOJ rather than being settled by paying an administrative fine.
Sadly, President Trump has not yet drained the swamp, so the bad actors put in place by Obama remain in place.
