Re: The Stupid Clock

Aren’t the clocks going back soon? Or is it forwards? I did say it was a stupid clock!
Worryingly going forward, so now I won't know if it's sunlight or nuclear when I wake up in the mornings.
Off to watch Threads again for a reminder how it's going to pan out.

I survived the Cuban Crisis weekend. Nothing scared us (we were from Dundalk). But then came this on 23rd November 1963. Scary.

OK, so did I. Admittedly, I was a baby, but I’m pretty sure I contributed exactly as much as you did to prevent the thermonuclear war. This time around, who knows? Somebody’s got to do something.

MANA: Make Newry Great Again! :) Something something borders. Something something Sainburys is cheaper than "down south", and every other cliche I've heard in the last twenty years of living here.

In the 60s whole buses from Dundalk to Newry for butter, Rowntrees fruit gums and Hector Grey's market.
Customs checks  at Killeen.
Newry is different.

Asda had to limit nappy buying to three packs per person per day, as buyers were fleeing across the border to Strabane as the retail price was cheaper than Republic wholesale price.

Newry is a state of mind, this I do know.
