After the recent MS Windows failure due to the CrowdStrike issue, how can the world still believe that this system is safe? The situation exposed that third party software have low level access to system files, from what I understand. Windows relies on a lot of third party drivers and kernel-level software - with practically no control. It doesn't even have any mechanisms to isolate those which turn out problematic (Mac OS has it, from what I'm reading; and Linux obviously too).

Regardless of owner, vendor and the like the whole thing is a house of cards. Remeber that 21.9% of the worlds websites are running Apache HTTP server. And the name Apache has nothing to do with anything ethnic or otherwise, it's named as "A patchy server".

So nothing in the server world surprises me anymore. Crowdstrike was just a matter of time.

Ironic that Cloudstrike offer a $10 that couldn't buy a coffee and ham sandwich in an airport....

Honestly if it weren’t for Microsoft holes (which I loved to discover as a scriptkido), I wouldn’t even know Crowdstrike exists.
