I'm reading "The Art of Chi Kung" by Wong Kiew Kit. It's pretty cool.

Reading:

History of Philosophy by Frederick Copleston

Volume 1 - Ancient Greek Philosophy
Volume 2 - Medieval Philosophy
Volume 3 - Late Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy

Each book is 500 pages and I'm reading them simultaneously. Should keep me out of trouble for awhile.

Should...

that's my cue.

As a sidenote, does anyone know that Copleston took twenty (20) years to finish his project? 3 of his volumes cover early philosophy, 6 volumes cover modern philosophy.

In my books, that makes him a scholar and a gentleman.

The Kama-Sutra, a well-illustrated book!
It is like quantitative maths: after reading it, you can immediately apply the code...

In my books, that makes him a scholar and a gentleman. >>

In my experience these two attributes do not always come together. During my days in academia, I met quite a few scholars that I would hesitate to describe as gentlemen.

Regards,

Niclas

The correlation between talent and character is identically zero.

Your total income by the time you die will probably be greater if you read these three books:

Knowledge and Decisions, by Thomas Sowell

The Fatal Conceit, by Friedrich Hayek

The Theory of Poker, by David Sklansky

"Cryptography" by S. Levy

Nice bedtime reading. Discusses Big Brother's, the NSA, attempts at suppressing the any info on the subject. Interesting book.

I thought the RSA team made a pretty smart move by selling the company. I'll bet the mathematician in them said "You know, its only a matter of time before some smart kid comes up with a way to factor prime numbers quickly. I think we should sell this company before that happens."

numbers can be factorised in a product of primes (e.g. the factorisation of 20 is 2*2*5). coding/decoding involves finding the primes factorising a very lage number. But a prime number cannot be factorised... (only itself times one...)
