"Power corrupts, and absolute power..."
However, all the ridiculous things that Labour might want to do, will/might be slowed down by the House of Lords. At least, that's how I get to sleep at night these days!
(The HoL was so much better when it was full of proper Peers, i.e. the hereditary ones. They had an interest in the long-term state of the UK. Now, thanks Tony Blair, it's full of political cronies and has-beens, so not to be trusted!)
