No. We judokas don't mess. Actually 6 of my judo mates are in Tokyo doing kata at the Kodokan.Do you also have it that when you meet people who know that you train Eastern martial arts they start to fly fists in front of your eyes to see if you blink? I'm yaaawned by that...

yesterday we had new 16-year old judokas on the mat. Sensei introduced me as the judoka who trained with these Olympians. Felt like a museum piece

I used to fight twice a week with Ruska in clubs Oyama in Amsterdam .. he used me as uke as throws. Unfortunately he got a stroke and was an invalid. Sadly he died a few years ago. Before he died he bequethed all his photos to my current judo club, also called Oyama in his honour.6'6''! I would give you a medal for daring to come near those goliaths - with a sling? I have an impression that martial arts athletes often die from heart attacks and strokes (Bruce Lee, Ed Parker, many Japanese guys, buy also many regular black belts I've heard about or knew). There's a theory that sports which generate a lot of injuries and thus inflammations can lead to that (like you can have a heart failure due to a tooth inflammation).
Forgive my ignorance, but why the surname of the Kyokushin style founder would commemorate Ruska?

Good question! That's what I used to think; 'Oyama' means bright mountain or something and the club has nothing to do with Mas Oyama (BTW that's not his real name, he was Korean).Cool moustaches

Club Oyama I came to an abrupt end 19 December 1983, caused by an arsonist in a nearby club. 13 people lost their lives. i was there that night, People were jumping out of windows. That was the end.
