BoJo created his share of myths too, when he wrote for The Telegraph. Some people are just pathological liers and, admittedly, pretty good at it.
Yes, the advantage of having gone to Eton. Some of my best friends are old Etonians.

Why is Charles Stewart Parnell trending? Ghost of Home Rule leader haunts House of Commons in Brexit debate

And as the debate gathered pace, the Conservative MP declared: "The approach taken today is the most unconstitutional use of this house since the days of Charles Stewart Parnell when he tried to bung up parliament."

Nigel Farage: ‘I’ve long been a great admirer of Charles Stewart Parnell’

https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland ... -1.4009139

A secret admirer, because there are no records on this, well, at least up to yesterday when JRM mentioned him.

Mr. Farage: I worked with Parnell. he was a friend, you are no Parnell.

Labour: “Get rid of this dictator Johnson!”

Conservatives: “Ok, let’s have an election.”

Labour: “No!”

Boris is clever; it would be a Pyrrhic victory. To quote Pyrrhus hisself “Another victory like that and we are done for.”
Would JC enjoy Brussels?

Presumably Labour would prefer to contest an election where either Johnson has asked Brussels for an extension and thus incurred the wrath of Farage or one where he is dead in a ditch (just adding a little more detail to the "or die" part of his private election promise). In addition, since nobody, including friends and family, seems to trust the dynamic duo of Johnson and Cummings any further than they can throw them, they are disinclined to give them much rope.
