What do people think of The Art of the Deal?
So it wasn't just me that's been mulling this over. The question is how do we acquire copies without being judged publicly?
Or should I just loosen up a bit and not care what other people think.
I haven't been mulling it over, I've read it. This thread seemed the obvious place to discuss it. I can echo Gamal, at your age...!

It's a good book. I don't know how much is true, how much he wrote, and, assuming he didn't write much, whether he has even read it. It was written nearly 40 years ago, but is uncanny in predicting Trump's more recent actions. If you take it at face value then there's not a lot to disagree with in terms of business dealings.

Yes, JB, loosen up about buying it!

It's not worth the paper it's written on; it's the judo equivalent of Potemkin village!
Anyways, he did judo till 12, after that Sambo. Besides, my old judo club had European, World and Olympic gold medallists in judo and Sambo. And they had Russian judokas for breakfast.

I suspect he got a black belt from my old nemesis Pat Hickey (in photo) who was president of EOC and orgaiser of the Baku Games. I beat him once on the  mat when I was yellow belt and he a black belt and 10 kg heavier. Haha

So, I'll pass if you don't mind.

In the same vein, a reading recommendation for Cuch: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/830630.Judo
Chris Dolman learned Sambo one weekend, and became World  champion.

Thanks, Jason Bell!
Trump: The Art of the Deal will be auto-delivered wirelessly to Kindle for Web. You can go to your device to start reading.
Well that was exhilarating.... hopefully it will be worth the 6.77 $MELANIAs

You mentioned some of the things that were going through my mind, would the book outline what's happening now. Should we be surprised in any wave, shape or form about the actions happening today when they were there in plain sight. That got me thinking about the book.

I'd been reading "If Then" by Jill Lepore about The Simulatics Corporation and using data in the 50s for influencing elections. Head on one chapter, "f + h = p", fear plus hate equals power. Says everything.

I need another three Yorkshire Tea's before loosening up. Back to the kettle!

I see you shifted position to “If you’ve got it, flaunt it”!

Does the age thing make one not give a flying damn or hide their opinions in public?

Someone should make a "for dummies" version for the modern age.
A brilliant idea...but still too soon.

Maturity
I practiced maturity until a few years ago. It led me far up to the cold northern winter, where I was speeding in a motor boat full throttle across the Arctic Sea (sorry, Ocean!) and passed herds of moose on snowshoes (I had no idea they were aggressive animals - they looked so cosy, and just ignored me), and I did even more crazy things. All that with untreated severe pernicious anaemia and vertigo. I wanted to be a bit immature before I died. What happened instead is that here I am - perfectly healthy and happy as I always used to be in my immaturity years! I can’t even explain it! Ditch maturity! It’s poison!

Apropos herds of moose on showshoes, “Once I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas I'll never know.”

Strange animals. Now that I’ve heard stories, they spook me out a bit - but not nearly as much as panda bears. I find pandas psychotically dangerous, and ugly... No idea why people love them.

I managed to find an abridged version in Roma ( di nascosto) but the full version on the high street in Belfast. Got a great book on Rommel in Belfast couple years ago.
No joy in Peel. Actually, I did see a book with a 3-legged swastika on the spine.

Did u know: swastika is symbol for IoM?
