Everybody sold drugs, and most kitchens had only one supply - tin foil. One time, my roommate came back from the shoe store with a pound of marijuana. The guy who measures your feet, and then pulls the shoes from the back, just gave it to him, and said if he could move it, to just come back with the money.I had to pick up teenage girls at Summers each night just to have a place to sleep. MPSo have you found a market where the EMH holds? In which form? I bet you had no access to insider information to beat the marketBy the way, i dont think that you were picking up teenage girls, i bet they were picking up youYou were offering them your beauty, your intimate companion, plus the illusions they needed for a night, in exchange for accomodation? Not a fair deal at all

That's some useful insight. Although the thread drifted somewhat towards the end.................I've been speaking to several London recruitment consultants today who've offered me the opportunity to take time out to sit the relevant MSc exams later in the year (no course attendance necessary). Personally, my main priority is to start as soon as possible on a graduate scheme as I feel the learning curve is faster dealing with clients, trading and having a hands on approach from inside the industry as opposed to a theoretical university approach (four years in university has its limits).Svunt, can't offer any particular hedge fund in particular, since you will be judged on your own merits - try looking in the FT - thursdays edition.Man, thanks for the mail (my personal mail box isn't working for some reason). I haven't actually tried contacting trading desks using that approach, it's a little bit different in London than US.

I was totally starving, and our cabinets were completely bare, except for 1) cornstarch, 2) dried black pepper flakes, and 3) mustard packets. So I heated some water, and made this slimy foul-tasting yellowish soup, with black flecks and globs. It was like some pestilence out of a horror movie!Sorta reminds me of a synthasis of these two "The Simpsons" episodes:Homer: Well, the evening began at the Gentleman's Club, where we were discussing Wittgenstein over a game of backgammon. Scully: Mr. Simpson, it's a felony to lie to the FBI. Homer: We were sitting in Barney's car eating packets of mustard. Ya happy?Lisa: "There's nothing to eat for breakfast..."Homer: "Ya gotta improvise, Lisa... Cloves, Tom Collins mix, frozen pie crust..."Lisa: "Maybe mom just doesn't realize we miss her. We could go down to the casino and let her know..."Homer: "Aw come on, Lisa, there's no reason to (crunch)... Let's go see mom..."But I think the "Career Path" lesson to be learned here is that no matter how attractive those wet-T shirt contestants are, you should follow Jesse Livermore's advice and never loose your stake (i.e. a funamental amount of cash) because that is your lifeline. - James
