Ode to a Quantian Garbage Can

Of course some bits of the garbage will be worse than others. Within a short time there will be calls for some way to vote that some Quantian Garbage Can threads be moved to a second-level Garbage Garbage Can.

Mmmm - probably not. I like diversity in posts - don't mind a little low-end muddy brawling from time to time, but I don't wallow in it.What surprises me today is, after all the convolutions of yesterday and the fact that we are clearly -1 on the Forum now, that the Middle East continues to rise to the top.Fine with me if that is the favorite topic of the month, quarter, or entire year, but isn't everyone going to get bored with it after awhile?I guess we will find out!

The mideast has been at the top of OT for thousands of years and I fear it will remain so for a long time. For better or for worse, some people have strong opinions about that god-infested land. I do want to publicly thank trackstar for resurfacing so many amusing older threads. While those threads cannot prevent people for posting muck on the mideast muddles, they do provide a pleasant counterpoint.

There is some great material going back through the years, although I generally stay in my own era when advancing things from the archives, since I understand the context and ambience of the time.

QuoteHmmm... democratic censorship sounds like a tyranny of the majority to me.Give me a single benevolent dictator rather than groupthink. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
