BTW, what happened to IOT? No one talks about it.
It's out there but it never had the same marketing hype pull as BigData at the time. Plus real world use cases where hardware sales were involved were a much harder push. Then there was the small matter of no one really giving a sh*t about internet connected fridges.
Maybe they needed bigger "fridges" (data centes)? I suppose predictive maintenance, real-time trained data.
e.g. predicting resource depletion. Of course, not needed if you have money to burn.
