Cardinal Pell of Australia has been found guilty of pederasty. The Pope reacted by "demoting" him: he's no longer in the College of Cardinals Advisors (a group of nine Catholic cardinals appointed by Pope Francis to serve as his advisers) but he's still a Cardinal it would seem.
If I were Pope, he'd have been kicked out of the Church, period.
In December 2018, Pell was convicted of the sexual abuse of two boys in the 1990s, after a jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict. He is due to be sentenced in February 2019. Following the conviction Pell was removed from the Pope's Council of Cardinal Advisers.
