But Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men
Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy!

Even in Iceland they have a leviathan (a whale)  who swam up Glymur waterfal to the lake. Not many people know that.

Here is a silly game:

a = (input name of mythological beast a)
b = (input name of mythological beast b)
print("You got it!"if a = Leviathan and b = Behemoth else print("You lose; try again!"

I looked up the Red Beard story and found that Leviathan (Livyatan) is indeed a whale in that version and not a sea serpent. In any case, an important part of Forum symbolism from the 2010 era.

I am coaching some young Icelandic mathematicians, one of whom worked in a whaling station and is a member of ICE-SAR. He was training in the area last weekend. Hvalfjörður == name from whales which can be commonly seen in the fjord.

ICE-SAR ("Search and Rescue" for the uninitiated) must have many good stories.

Some of the people I've met in recent years work in the White Mountains, on or around Mount Washington.

Here is a spring time photo (April) up there; imagine if this Summit building, part of the MW Observatory, was your year-round office.

Interesting. The human factors can be worse than the weather!
When I look at that Summit Observatory picture, I think about temperatures, wind chill factors, how many feet (meters!) of snow there could be, food and fuel supplies.
In February this year, they recorded wind speeds of 161 miles (259 km) per hour. The record up there is 231 mph (372 km/h)

Not a good day for a grocery shopping trip if you were running out of coffee and oatmeal!

Imagine ISayMoo, Gamal, Marsden and even bearish living there for months on end.
A play? on the lines of Waiting for God.

Pozzo .. ISM
Vladimir .. Marsden
Estragon .. Gamal

"On the surface he is a pompous, sometimes foppisharistocrat (he claims to live in a manor, own many slaves and a Steinway piano), cruelly using and exploiting those around him (specifically his slaveLucky and, to a lesser extent, Estragon)."

Hmm. I don't have a piano.
=> more audition$ and ca$t .....ouch
