I was wondering about some sort of metric that would measure both how many posts you have made, and then the subsequent views of the post. Using my personal example, my puny number of (long, boring) posts of 65 or thereabouts, times the whopping 2909 times the "Dish the Dirt on GARP" thread has been viewed would catapult me to stellar ranks, whereas one who generates a multiplicity of threads with no compelling interest would languish. Those Senior Members with both lots, and instructive, and popular posts still would be the leaders they are, but those with "best-selling" but narrowly focused posts on sub-topics also would be rewarded, and those that create dead-ends would grow their metric at a rate apporpriate to their contribution.I actually don't really care, and the current system is just fine by me, but sorta like a pinball machine that suddenly starts awarding extra points, it would be fun to watch the metric. The bad side of it is, those who post both narrowly, and few posts, in the most dificult and arcane topics, such as the innumerable sub-topics in convert pricing, would be punished.Awww. Forget I sugested it.
