In my first financial job, for Prudential Insurance, there was an employee medical clinic on the premises. It had a dozen small private rooms with beds. A 15-minute real nap, lying down in a bed, took care of all afternoon drowsiness, while a two-hour half-waking torture sitting in an uncomfortable chair in a public meeting saps all energy for at least 12 hours.I'm sorry to doubt you, shaileshdhuri, but I am always amazed at how inattentive students think professors are. Any normal person scanning a room during lecture can tell not only who is awake versus asleep, but who is paying attention versus daydreaming or writing letters or working on assignments from other classes; and of those paying attention those who understand versus those who don't; and what the daydreamers are dreaming about; and who the letters are to; and what the grade will be on the assignment work.I'm a big doodler myself, JabairuStork. But the real distracter these days is everyone frantically using both thumbs to type into their Blackberries.I guess I'm old-fashioned about this, but I can imagine no greater disrespect than to nod off to sleep while you are supposed to be communicating infor. . .ZZZZZZZ
