And now the cyclist has won a defamation suit against the father for posting the video online.A judge ordered him to pay the equivalent of just over $1 in compensation in March 2021 on grounds that he did not intend to hurt the child — and that he had already been criticized enough on social media.
This seems to invite a countersuit, or a re-hearing of the original charges against the cyclist: if his social media issues were recognized in reducing his original sentence, but now he has won a suit compensating him for those issues, something is out of whack.
