a meta question/comment on quoting.
do you happen to quote AI generated text? have you seen that somewhere?
i mean some "artists" sell (at quite high prices)  AI generated pieces of "art" that other people buy, which suggest AI-generated stuff is meaningful/significant. what about. Another thing is that some AI-generated text happen to be sensical. I'm adding that one may want to quote an AI generated statement just because of the way it sounds. So why not quoting it?
What do you think?

I think you’re right. I propose that all AI quotes be put on the blockchain. That would be the most useful application I can think of so far.

Storing and managing access to sensitive data offer all sorts in blockchain is theoretically a good idea, imho. In practice, it has many vulnerabilities (like every technology) which wouldn't need to be secured: https://www.ibm.com/topics/blockchain-security
Not sure if those vulnerabilities make it a much worse solutions than handing such data to Amazon or Google.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure blockchain in some form will dominate major public and economic sectors whrn I'm old. In countries like China or India probably much sooner.

I’ll take the over on that. Admittedly, I don’t know much about the real world, but in the world of finance (where I have hung around for a while) I have yet to hear of a genuine problem to which a blockchain based application was the solution. Unless you count Bitcoin repo, but I’d consider that a rather contrived problem.

Sure, even if one assumes that Bitcoin or blockchain were good ideas, the realisation is just as bad as the Apple iphone dictionary trained on user data - vide many of my posts... :-D And all those strange collocations go unnoticed to my eyes, even if I make effort to correct them.

Fascinating. William Jennigs Bryan - probably a figure well known to Americans, but newly encountered by me in a completely different context, anti-evolution activism (a slightly less insane version of creationism - but only slightly). I've been recently studying the history of the theory of evolution, out of the same curiousness which made me study the history of physics long ago, and realise how prone it is to intrinsic faults of both its scientific and non-scientific mechanisms. The evolutionary theory seems even more susceptible to them, as shown by the human (and non-human) history. Why is it impossibly difficult to realise a theoretically simple QM experiment? And why is racism if we are all equal? Something is wrong with science - after Kant, or even already Newton, it detached from reality, and once it grew stronger and recruited the army of followers, came back in an attempt to replace it. In some cases it succeeded, and hence the pathologies mentioned above. Anyway, WJB fascinated me with the power of his rethorics and completeness of his believes, so I decided to learn more about him - I discovered more than i expected. Dont judge the creationist by his bible's cover! Seriously, I think WJB was on the right side...

You would enjoy "Inherit the Wind", one of my all-time favorite movies.
(The character Mathew Harrison Brady is patterned after WJB).
