Again, I don’t understand. Isn’t it Stefanik’s job to ask awkward questions? And the more misleading the better?

On yes/no…

“Does x+y = 1? It’s a yes/no.”

Which is better:

“It would be inaccurate of me to say yes or no. I can explain (at great length!) if you wish.”

Or

“Mathematics is a very important subject.”

@ Yossi
When pro-Palestinian activists in uni campuses chant “Globalise the intifada,” what do they mean?

I'm glad to know that you have disavowed the practice of quantitative finance. I yield back the remainder of my time.
Counsel for Defence: I would like to thank my learned colleague for yielding so readily. Perhaps he has a more pressing engagement elsewhere. Now, you said that practising quantitative finance kills babies. Is that correct?

Witness: No. I said that killing babies was wrong.

CoD: Court reporter, could you read back…

CoD: Would you be so kind as to clarify your position on quant finance and the killing of babies?

Witness: Certainly. I answered the question about killing babies, which I believe to be wrong. Counsel for the Prosecution’s statement about quantitative finance is nonsense, but I was not asked to comment on that. I apologise to the court, your honour, but I thought that was obvious.

Judge: Thank you, that was all very clear. [Thinks: What an excellent witness.]

I'm sorry, Mr. Wilmott. The time for your testimony is over. If you'd like to submit additional testimony, in writing, to the parliamentarian, you have five days to do so.

Headline: Wilmott, Inc. Shares Tumble as Founder Seemingly Announces Retirement

It's not a court of law, Paul. There is no rebuttal unless some other Representative wants the point rebutted. Or unless someone wants to read the written testimony separately submitted.

Stefanik in fact later on said that Gay had agreed under oath that "intifada" meant the genocide of the Jews (Gay had done no such thing).

Gay's performance was poor, probably because she didn't go into it appreciating what a deeply evil woman Stefanik is. She should have responded to everything Stefanik said with, "I don't think that's an accurate representation."

Sammy, it means taking the resistance worldwide, including to the place that has been bankrolling the occupation and oppression for decades. Which is my country.

It doesn't mean the genocide of the Jews anywhere near the extent that your country's carpet bombing of Gaza means the genocide of the Palestinians there.

But Yossi, Intifada is NOT synonymous with “resistance.” While the Arabic word for resistance is muqawamah, the term also has specific connotations of a military doctrine often combines elements of guerrilla warfare and terrorism, and has been adopted by various of Islamic organisations opposed to Israel and the Western world.

Several Palestinian organisations including Fatah, Islamic Jihad or Hamas are known as resistance groups as they employ the muqawamah doctrine in their operations. With some minor variations the doctrine has also been adopted by Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah (Hezbollah also has a political party uses the name "Lebanese Resistance" to emphasise its adherence to the muqawamah ideolog).

It’s undoubtedly a sad state of affairs that students on campuses are simply being manipulated and used for impure purposes. Agreed?

It's not synonymous with "genocide," either.

I think the most direct translation is supposed to be "shrugging off." So "resistance" isn't too bad, is it?

Any thoughts on the Zionist organizations of Lehi and the Stern Gang, which I believe a couple of your Prime Ministers belonged to?

And you need to be more specific with your last point.

Quite right. "Irgun" is what I should have written in place of one or the other.

Well, according to the UN Genocide Convention it is.

The word Intifada deserves examination not only from a general linguistic standpoint but also, and more importantly, from a cultural perspective. Beyond its collective meaning broadly akin to "riot," it holds individual significance as well. It can be understood as a violent uprising against foreign entity or people motivated by the intention to kill using readily available weapons as stones, knives, or whatever else may be at hand.

Therefore, when we witness events like a Muslim stabbing two tourists in Paris, another fatally stabbing a teacher and injuring two students at a school in Lyon, or the Algerian who tragically stabbed young children in Dublin*, we encounter a stark contrast in perspectives. For the transgressors and their supporters, these acts are viewed as Intifada, while for rest of us they are undeniably terrorist attacks. Have you noticed btw that such acts of violence against children of their own ethnic are rarely, if ever, observed within Arab states?

And my point is to highlight the inherent disparity in the cultural context and the motivations underlie the term "Intifada" and its application.
So, in the end, do you support globalising the Intifada (e.g. murdering Jews in the US and abroad) ?

the Irish government's reticence to disclose details since it motivated by the desire to avoid disrupting their public narrative.

I disagree, but I'd be interested to see your argument to see exactly what our point of disagreement is.
I'll tell you in advance that I expect my criticism of your position to be along the lines of, "Well, if we accept that, then are not X and Y and Z also genocide?" And of course at least one of X and Y and Z will be something that Israel is doing or has done.

The later. I was first programmed in the village of Ein Kerem, nearly 2,000 years after John the Baptist.

A lie is still a lie, even if you repeat it 60 times.
The French government did not hesitate to publish the name of the terrorist in Paris, his identity, and his motive immediately after the incident. The Irish government on the other hand is engaged in cover-up and does not publish anything about the perpetrator and his motive. This is called a lie!

We should limit the constraints of the global Intifada to the US and Europe alone. What is happening in the ME right now is a full scale war in the literal sense. Therefore, I will ask again, do you support the Intifada against the Jews in the US and Europe? Yes or no!?
