Soviets were sending people to space, building fighter jets and other crazy quant stuff for over 50 years now. the population is ~200 mln, but density of quants is so high that absolute numbers are insane. all I'm saying is that if you take any quant, it's 90% probability that s/he will be on fast track GC/Citizenship path. most quants can get GC in 2 years, that's my statement.

If you are from Lithuania, then you do not need any work permit for London because Lithuania is in the EU. So you do not have the problems which the Asians have. By the way, 60% of the quants on Wall Street are Asians. There used to be a lot of French people, but now they prefer to work in London. Maybe your firm is an exception which hires only Russian people.
