Thanks very much, both of you.

I hope we will find out how Cuch et fils are doing today!

I have read about hakarl a few times because of posts here and I don't know... :Q

Another reason to go Vegan!

I don't know about going vegan. The percentage of plants that are poisonous is a lot higher than the percentage of poisonous vertebrates.

Animals escape predators by moving. Plants resort to chemical weapons.

Well, I am thinking of how to decline the local hospitality in a graceful way.

People understand that vegans are quasi-religious about their food beliefs and practices.  ;)

It looks so good, but I've been a vegan for (fill in the blank: years, months, weeks, days...).

I'll take the aqua vit though!!

Should we send a rescue team? I've heard that eating bullet ants can help detox the rotten shark meat as well as give you a fever so that you don't freeze in the snow.

"I'm vegan" is probably a better excuse than "I had raw rotten fish for lunch"

I wonder... I have not been on here much today but no sign of the triskele.

Maybe we should try some limericks about Iceland first?
If that does not draw him out, then indeed a search party, dogsled team, and emergency med kit.  :D

Where Giants Fear to Tread

He asked me had I been to Iceland.
I said, no, but I've heard it's a nice land.
He said, come with me
and we'll drink akvavit
While sharks rot in trees near the white sand.

Yikes - I don't think that will draw anyone out if they are under the weather - more likely just drive them deeper underground!  :D

Here is a limerick from my sister - I told her about our effort.

Transformation in a Barren Land

In Iceland they say you'll see faeries
but get lost and it sure can be scary
drink your gold mead
and fall deep asleep
you'll awaken surrounded by ponies

Fine Dining on Ice

There was a hot vixen from Rek'vik
Roasted reindeer and seals on a sharp stick
If a man asked her for wine
she knew "not my kind"
and retreated to search for her ice pick...
