That would be him.

Never waste a good crisis; always be closing.
Genocide meets talk show.

Apparently Israel was willing to let his organization deliver meals -- at a small fraction of what is needed -- to cover up for their disruption of UNRWA, which is the only organization with any hope of stopping their induced famine in Gaza.

It's another cynical piece of propaganda and brainwashing.
My take is that Israel wants to permanently ban all UN organisations.

How fortunate that Gazans don't care about their family members, friends, and neighbors like Chef José Andrés cares about his coworkers.

It might have become a war against humanity much earlier otherwise.

People in the streets in Israel again
I was dreaming in my dreaming
Of an aspect bright and fair
And my sleeping it was broken
But my dream it lingered near
In the form of shining valleys
Where the pure air recognized
And my senses newly opened
I awakened to the cry
That the people have the power
To redeem the work of fools
From the meek the graces shower
It's decreed the people rule

People have the power…

Vengeful aspects became suspect
And bending low as if to hear
And the armies ceased advancing
Because the people had their ear
And the shepherds and the soldiers
And they lay among the stars
Exchanging visions
And laying arms
To waste in the dust
In the form of shining valleys
Where the pure air recognized
And my senses newly opened
I awakened to the cry
People have the power

“They” almost made me stop believing it :-)

Sadly, most of the people in the streets of Israel are only protesting Netanyahu's personal criminality and his efforts at becoming a dictator.

The few who are protesting the genocide are getting beaten and fired from their jobs.

I think in Nazi Germany the government broadcast enough lies that the German people could generally claim at least plausible deniability about knowing what was going on.

I guess the Nazis only had about twenty years to shape Germans into being true believers; Israel's had seventy-five.

Oh brave new world that has such people in it.

Things are bad when a cook can become a cult figure.
Where's Bono?

BTW he mentions 6 were killed; was it not 7 or did they leave out the Palestinian?

I believe it's a bit more complex. Sometimes immediate problems can obstruct more distant ones and influence our feelings and opinions. That's why we are so easy to play.

Like when my cat escaped and it made me hate the world and want to see it burn. Quite predictably the feelings went away when she came back.

Just about everything is more complex than our understanding or explanation, I'm sure. Maybe financial mathematics is the only exception.

My cat -- the good, but presumed less intelligent one, for reasons that may come out in this history -- jumped the fence into the neighbor's yard yesterday. She wouldn't follow me along the fence to the gate, so I went into the yard, picked her up, and carried her to the gate.

She struggled, scratched, got free, jumped back into the neighbor's yard, and ran back to the place where she had jumped the fence.

So I picked her up and dropped her over the fence by where she was, and she was happy once again.

Hypothesis: humans aren't the only animals that tend to think in only one dimension.

They have very good hearing. Maybe something lives near or under the fence.

Would you show me the photo of her? <3

Traveling, so I don't have more recent pictures available. But here she is with her sister when she was much younger (Sophia, the good but maybe not-so-bright cat, is gray and white; Mathilda is orange):

And a link to Sophia as a kitten apparently approving of the scent of my shampoo:

Great pictures, Marsden! And Kudos for supporting Ukraine (apparently we agree at least on something)

Supercute, Marsden! Thanks. Glad to meet a fellow cat lover!
My cat madness after I adopted them about two years ago. They haven’t changed much personality-wise.

Only Norwegian forest cats can do this, allegedly:

That’s my Plancka, named after Max Planck. The black one is Zeta, from Riemann’s zeta, because we watched the presentation of the ridiculous “proof” of the Riemann hypothesis by some Indian physicist before we brought her.
