I like those political WF topics. Everyone has one story to tell, again and again. Like in JJ's novels (based on the few pages I endured).

We discussed it recently. One option would be for Eire to rejoin the UK, which would once again become the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
No we didn't. It was your monologue interior.
Eire was never in the UK. But Ireland was before the 1916 Uprising. My grandad of the Fourth Northern Division was shipped to Frongoch holiday camp shortly afterwards.

I think ppauper's Encyclopediia Britanica dates form 1930. Living in the past.

A Polish exit from the EU (voluntary or forced) would potentially solve several problems. The one that was just brought up about the eastern border, as well as allowing Law and Justice to do whatever they want without interference from Brussels, and lastly, perhaps removing one of the grievances behind Brexit.  Just a thought...

then the EU would need to put fortifications on the Polish border with Germany, Czech, Slovakia, and Lithuania instead of with Belarus, Ukraine and Russia (Kalingrad).

Smuggling goods across the Polish border and other goods back to Ukraine (comparative advantage) has indeed become less profitable, but I haven't heard about any split families.

What do you want to smuggle then?
