Just had an idea: why not outsource fishing to the French and Dutch trawlers?
years ago in NL they had a chain of fish restaurants Noord Zee Kwik (aka Quick). But kwik is Dutch for the metal called mercury.
They dropped the name at some stage...

I remember years ago a colleague complaining about a house-purchase negotiation. He said that the other side were haggling down to the last £25. (This was in the 1980s.) This annoyed him. My thought, which I kept to myself, was that it takes two to haggle. He could have stopped at any time and taken a £50, say, “hit.” But he didn’t.

Paul, you never told us Patricia Routledge was born in Tranmere! Rovers were a great team in the 50s.

Legend has it that I’ve been to two footie matches in my life. Both before age 4. One was Tranmere Rovers (I imagine there was an opposing team but the legend is quiet on this matter) and another a charity match featuring Stanley Matthews.
