Newbie question about break-even inflation

Why we are looking at 5y5y breakeven rate for the most part?
Why not just the 10y breakeven rate?

If you have any papers to share, it will be great as well.

A few years ago some people said that 5yr5yr was Mario's favorite inflation indicator. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/econ ... t-now.html). So everyone started looking at it. Just like children's song "monkey see, monkey do".

Mario was a fan, when it suited him.  Then he wasn't...  Before Mario, however, it's been much loved by the Federales.
